Introduction: Wood flooring is "alive"; it "breathes" with the changes in indoor temperature and humidity. Adjusting your maintenance strategy according to the characteristics of different seasons can effectively extend the floor's lifespan.

Wood is very sensitive to ambient humidity. Generally, the ideal indoor humidity range is 50%-80%, and the temperature range is 0°C-30°C.

• Spring (Humid Season): Focus on moisture protection. During the humid "huitian" (recurrent damp weather), keep windows and doors tightly closed to prevent outdoor moisture from entering. Use the dehumidifying function on your air conditioner or a dedicated dehumidifier. Avoid mopping the floor with a wet mop during this time.

• Summer (Air-Conditioned Rooms): Prolonged air conditioning can make the indoor air very dry, causing the floor to lose moisture, shrink, and potentially develop gaps or warp. Place a basin of water in the room or use a humidifier to regulate humidity artificially.

• Autumn (Windy Season): The weather is dry and windy. Avoid keeping windows and doors wide open for long periods to prevent strong, dry winds from blowing directly onto the floor surface, leading to rapid moisture loss.

• Winter (Heating Season): Underfloor heating or radiators increase the floor's surface temperature and cause a sharp drop in indoor humidity. This is the season when floors are most prone to problems. It's advisable to use a humidifier to maintain moisture levels. Avoid placing high-temperature objects directly on the floor or covering it with non-ventilated rugs.
